Getting started . . .

Travis - The Man Who

I'll be starting my postings here with a mention to the "soundtrack" of the day . . . Right now, I just can't seem to get enough of the song, She's So Strange from the band Travis. Yes, I'm proud to say that I have a strong dependency on music! :)

So I may be behind on getting this going, but there is always a first step in everything and I've decided to make the jump . . .

Where to begin? I totally don't know, but maybe I should talk a bit about myself to help set-up for future postings.

I'm a photographer based in Dallas, Tx. and I love my camera and what I can do with it! Seriously, I live for finding great subjects to photograph whether it be people oriented or environment. Inspiration is definitely key! Traveling, whenever I get a chance my camera comes with me and I document as much as possible. I was recently invited to help a friend photograph a drummer and I kind of ran off with it . . . Some three hours later, there were plenty of images to sort through and I know we definitely up'd the ante on what we gave the publication (I'll be posting an image soon enough).

Yes, I totally love to shoot many frames (not hard to do with digital) and I'm learning when to say when . . . most of the time ;)

Age, I'm going to totally skip that and just say that I've been in the industry here in Dallas for quite some time. I've learned from many great photographers here in the area and I'm proud to say that I am fortunate to have worked with them all . . . At some point, assisting begins to take the back seat and other doors open up . . .

I'm proud to be where I'm at and I'm looking forward to a much grander future . . .

Nope, I'm not native Texan but I've been here long enough to have adapted to it quite well. I was born and raised in California and made the jump to Dallas (by way of mother and brothers) back in 84'. I'm definitely NorCal in attitude and perspective (I guess a person kinda gets a stamp of some sort that marks you the rest of your life if you were ever born in the Bay area). Yes, it follows me wherever I go and people can see this . . .

About my photography, it's all commercial based with a strong leaning towards lifestyle type imaging. Editorial, advertising, lifestyle is what I do and I always make it my point to keep it real as much as possible.

Cheers!
